ok i've been building some sites this week and i seem to have problems uploading stuff, like 99% of what i upload doesnt upload correctly
like if i upload a 27kb pic it only uploads 25kb and its either chopped off or blurry, i've tried
    FTP PRO
    cute ftp
and the FTP included in windows XP
anyone know what causes this problem? Thanks
and its not just the pics, the .html files are also being shrunk when uploaded /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Where are you hosting the websites? Are they all hosted with the same people?

do you have a firewall or some type of filtering in between. some filters/firewalls look for certain patterns and snip them out. specially files like .html pages...

not sure if this is an option but if you don't have C-Panel to manager the websites, can you change to a host that offers it? You'll kiss all that ftp crap good bye /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

in net work places you can add an FTP as a network place, then it acts just like a regular folder. its pretty neat actually
hosting them from www.newwebsites.com, but i know others hosting there and their not having any troubles
no firewall i checked that already and its disabled, some time this weekend or next week i'll take screen shots for you to see. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

    in your IE address bar

type in your ftp address/user/pass like this

    ftp://user:pass@www.ftp.com:21
and it will open the site just like a normal windows folder
drop and drag, pretty quick actually...

the ftp the person above is talking about isnt windows ftp, its dos ftp

    as for your question

are you on dial up, sounds like something is timing out

try uploading two files at once

make sure you have the options set to upload in binary mode, not ascii

    ascii sometimes screws up pictures
