We have a 350ci mated to a th350 tranny in our 78 Chevy farm truck. It is lifted 2.5" with 33" A/T's. When ever i take it on the road (its good enough to be a full time street driver) and get the engine to higher RPM's, not redlining, the tranny makes a noise that sounds like marraca's. The transmission is newly rebuilt and i never had problems with it till about a month ago. At first it would shift to 2nd till i redlined it, then i messed with the vacuum inlet and it started shifting normal but still making that noise, what is it, and what can i do tofix it?

    Do you have the 203?
That was the standard behind the th350.
It could be the chain slop, it would be scraping the bottom of your case.
Do you feel any slop in the front driveline?
