I have been looking at getting a welder from crasftsmen or home depot and ther are so many to pick from and I am having a hard time deciding witch one to get but I do know I want one that can weld up to a 1/2 steel so I can start fabing my own parts of frame work. so any info would be great.
    thanks colin

IF its not broke , break it and upgrade it.

I use the Craftsman 150 amp $500 jobby and it works great rated at 1/4" in a single pass and its made by Centry i've done alot of welding with it and other than blowing a breaker now and then i've had no problems.
