I read over TRusty's write up on welding up the 14B carrier... but I'm wondering if I can follow the same procedure with a D70. I'm wondering because I'm not sure if the carrier can be taken apart like the 14B carrier can be. Can anyone clue me in?

    Thanks again all!

it doesn't matter, everyone I know of around here agrees thats not the way to weld a 14 bolt. You have to weld the gears together, that method creates play and eventually damage.

I know that some of the dana 70 carriers are 2 peace like the 14 bolt and some are one peace.

I discussed this with a friend last night that has a welded 70, and as far as he can remember he just welded the spiders to each other. WORKS FOR ME! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    Thanks all.
