We welded mine while it was still under the truck. We pulled the cover and rotated it til you could see the first opening in the carrier. Then we filled in the corners where the spiders meshed together. We repeated this process at all four corners at that opening and the other opening...

It held together great and had no problems with it!

I'm thinking of welding my 10-bolt for temp fix while I prepare my 14-bolt. Anyone out there that has welded a 10-bolt? Any comments? Good...bad?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I imagine welding a 10 bolt would be pretty much the same as wleding a 12.. If it is temporary til you get your 14 finish, I would say go for it!
