I'm welding new shock mounts to my rear axle on my k5. What's the procedure? Do I need to brace it to stop warpage? drain diff. oil? Any advice welcomed!
    Thanks!

If you're worried, don't be but to ease your mind weld about a inch then let it cool, clean area and contiune same until you're done. There is a lot of steel and being a round surface it isn't prone to warpage like a flat surface. Good luck

Like LK said, just weld it how your comfortable. I just laid it down all at once. The tubes are heavy enough, your not going to warp it welding on it. The heavy tubes also act as a heat sink so the oil should be fine.
