Was that a mile run in 15 minutes? They require you to run 13:45 in a mile? Thats easy. I've been running since Jan. 1st and got my time down to 8 minutes flat.

the army standard is a 2 mile run in 15:54 for 18-21 age group and 16:03 for 22-26, I'm a terrible runner as well, the run always makes me nervous.

I hear ya pip, I need that same wake up call. After being on the couch/bed/hospital for the past 3 weeks, I feel like i'm in the worst shape of my life. I'd last maybe 1 minute in a fight... sad.

I wasn't either, then I learned how to pace myself, and did get to where I was ok. There is a rhythm to running well.

Shiit man, when I was in the Army, my big goofy sasquatch ass could do 2 miles at right around 14 minutes. I was puking my brains out for the last 100 yards, but I did do it. :) You're body type isn't that different than mine, so I know you can do it. :wink1:

Adults actually run more than like 50 feet? Huh!

That's the most I think I've run at a time in years. Usually more than enough distance to catch my little (creep lately) boy.

Then I have to sit down for a rest.

Have you tried swimming it Dale? I am not a runner either, but I am a fitness leader now for my command. I run the fatboy program so I am sorta forced to run to ensure all my fattys do:wink1: The swim is hard, but I know people that hate running that just practice at it. If you plan on staying in at all PRT is something you are gonna have to do well at. The standards are gonna get harder, and I am sure you know the tolerance is going down in the Nav. We have 9 people that will be separated by July for failures:eek1:
