Friday, I was looking thought the newspaper and saw a 1985 C-10 longbed for cheap. The listing was just one line and a phone number. The ad said it had a 96 Vortec engine and 'bad' rear end. I did a quick reverse lookup on the phone number and saw it was on my way home from work. I called and left a message.

After work I stop and looked at it. It was in good shape. it has a small bit of rust through the bed wheel wells but otherwise clean. The rest of the truck is solid.

The owner called me and I set up a time to meet on Saturday to see it in the light and drive it. Inside of the truck is in great shape. It still has the stock AM/ FM radio. The engine has been swapped for a 96 Vortec 305. The truck drove well, aside from a noise in the rear axle. The wife and I talked it over and I bought the truck.

This weekend I need to ID the axle and start looking for a replacement. Then I will have a around town truck!

I will post a few pictures tomorrow.

I like my 2wd long bed truck. Just wish it had a v8 from time to time.

    Lets see some pics.

Tennessee is being a real PITA with regisitration. This one took 5 minutes and $83 to register( and can do 60+ mph).
