went on a balloon ride today

    It was really cool. Took off and landed from a boat in the middle of tahoe. Topped out over 5k above the lake. It's really smooth; if you closed your eyes you would never know you were moving. Even the landing was real smooth. Fun fun.

    It actually works better because the boat can match speed with the balloon. If you put it down on land it goes skipping along until it gets tied down. There was a backup boat as well. The basket of the balloon floats and we all had a life preserver on.

    What the hell is it with you and getting in positions where you can potentially fall into a crater that wasn't there before you fell?

    That is as cool as hell though.

    My secret weakness is heights and water... I'd rather get shot on the ground, thank you, than just take a plane ride

    Nice pics... Lake Tahoe is so gorgeous!

    I went on a couple of balloon rides with the same "captain". Both times we crashed into the side of a hill :doah: A few months after the second crash, he accidentally dumped an older couple from the basket while trying to land.:( I think he is no longer allowed to operate a hot air balloon.:crazy:
    What about Stave's stinky feet? :confused:
