so today i was putting these shelving units together in this warehouse by myself and as i was finishing up, the drill decided to slip off the screw and punch the phillips bit through my left thumbnail, crushing my cuticle and depositing a few pieces of metal into my thumb. it hurt pretty bad. i rinsed it, found some guys with a first aid kit and bandaged myself up. then i got on the phone with an advice nurse a few hours later and she said i should have it checked out. went to the ER and had a good time. i alwasy have a good time in the ER b/c i get to give the docs some comic relief. stupid little injuries (last one was a broken bone in my hand). anyway, the doc decided to give me a tetanus shot and then have me xrayed to make sure i didn't fracture my thumb bone, which wouldn't be that big of a deal except that it was a puncture wound, thereby making me rather suceptible to staff infection. but, alls well now, and i've got a little more metal in my body than i used to. whatever.
