were late70's/early 80's 305 engines 2 or 4 bolt mains ?

    were late70\'s/early 80\'s 305 engines 2 or 4 bolt mains ?

    were they 2 or 4 bolt mains or did that vary per vehicle ?(and engine option at factory?)

    I have 4 different early 305 blocks and they are all 2 bolt mains.

    The only 4 bolt blocks GM ever made were 350's and 400's. All 283,302,305,307,327 engines were all 2 bolt mains.

    The only SBC 4 bolt blocks GM ever made were 350's and 400's. All 283,302,305,307,327 engines were all 2 bolt mains.

    You are correct, although keep in mind that large journal 327s and 350s are the same block (4" bore).

    I have never seen a 4 bolt main 305. I agree with the others, I don't think they ever made one.
