    Carl,

Ever put on a wet suit in the winter? Pretty cold to start ... but, I guess you won't have a bathing suit on either. Also curious as to how they will dry if they ever get wet. Neoprene tends to retain moisture long enough to let mold and mildew have a chance to set in. That's why wet suits stink if you don't dry them properly. I think it may be worse than a wet carpet that dries but stinks after each rain or high humidity conditions.

But they do look really cool ... awesome for a beach rider. Would be the envy of Baja or Cape Hatteras!

Who wants to pay 100-260 bucks for seat covers[IMG] I bought a set from Wal-Mart for 5 bucks and they look/work pretty good, and if I mess them up I just go lay down 5 more bucks for new ones[IMG]

I bought a set for my '73 since I leave the top off all the time. At first I thought they looked pretty cool and did their job ok except for not fitting perfectly. Within a couple of months, they had started to fade rapidly and anything that snagged on them produced a very noticable tear. A month or so after that,(even before that first summer ended) they were deteriorating quickly and I had to get rid of them. I kick myself for not buying some cheap vinyl Jeep seats for the same price! Right now I'm using cheap Pep Boys seat covers and they seem to last a couple of years before needing replacement as long as they survive the first day.

The hefty bag idea work pretty well. I used 4 hefty bags, two per seat, for about 6 months when I had sold my hard top but didn't yet have a soft top. My carpet got trashed from the rain but it was pretty bad beforehand so that didn't worry me, and my horn stopped working. But, the seats were always dry whenever I took off the bags. Just get a good waterproof jacket and a pair of goggles and have some fun.
