Last night while driving to a nearby Target one of the power steering hoses came loose, and ended up touching one of the moving belts causing a rip in the hose. There was steering fluid everywhere. My question is what can I do to stop this from happening again??

Get some good clamp downs and get some braided hoses...good ones tho...my friend has the braided ones in his ford and a hose came looses and hit the fan, it just skiped off and landed next to the fan shroud...just left a dent ! well hope that helps some :)

Your truck (80's right?) should have a hold down for both the power steering lines to the frame.

Yes it does have a hold down. The problem was the line closest to the fan,the fitting backed out a little bit and moved the line in the path of moving fan belts.. The hold down was tight. Anyways the new line cost me about $26.00. I want to keep the lines clear of the fan belts in the future. Right now they are zip tied together...So far it has worked [IMG]
