What are these wires for?

I'm in the process of installing my remote starter solenoid and when I tried to re-install the starter motor I noticed 2 wires that were in between the motor and block. One is a ground I beleive and the other goes to some kind of sensor on the passenger side of the block. What is that for? and why is it sandwiched between motor and block? Because it's almost impossible to get that wire back in there. If it's just another ground, can I stick somewhere else?

I'm guessing one of those goes to a knock senser. The other I don't have a idea, I'm sure somebody will though.
