i was wondering what axle was on my 73 2wd 3/4 gmc high seirra, im thinking its a big axle since the springs in the rear are really heavy duty and stiff. I would also like to know if this axle is any good for 4x4. thank you

It'll be a 14 bolt FF if it's stock. It is a very good axle for 4x4's because of it's a very strong axle!! It will handle 44's with ease/forums/images/icons/cool.gif. Look in the axle ID chart in the technical section of this site, For some photo id.
