    What backspacing are y\'all running?

Getting ready to buy some new tires/wheels and was wondering what backspacing you all are running on your wheels?

oh JMT I am running 3 5/8" backspacing with BFG 33x10.5x15 on a 15x8 wheel (actual height is 31" so not sure what the actual width is), on IE I am running 35x12.5x16 on a 16x8 with backspacing of 4".

both vehicles have no limit in turning radius from stock, and seem to be about right.

Stock backspacing on a straight axle K5 is 3 5/8.......with 4" you will almost certainly experience clearance issues with your tie rod end...mine hits on the right side, the left clears by about 1/8" from the weights.....I use an old set of Crager 3/8" spacers when I run my 10" Rally's with 4" spacing...(pn29200 3/8").....JD

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..

will you run into many problems by shortening the backspacing, say 3" to 3 1/2"?

well I tell ya what things are close, but I have no problems hitting tie rods etc at 4" backspacing. my turning radius etc. seems exactly the same as before.

4" on the burb jits in the front so unforturnetly the guy before me put 4" backspacing in the rear and 3 and 3/4 up front so the fronts stick out even farther.

If you're going with a 15x10 inch rim, IMO 3 5/8 is the best...thats what I'm running now. I love it. I used 4 inch backspacing rims a few years ago the dang things would rub the tie rod ends up front.

Re: What backspacing are y\'all running?

shortening the spacing to 3" or so puts more stress on the outside bearings........not to mention that it will look like one of those cartoon cars with the entire tire outside the body....then ya gotta have one of those coffee can tailpipe things....and recline the seat way back.....and put some unintelligible Japanese banzai stickers on it.....and play that "Shoot yo' mama" thumper stuff on yer stereo....seriously, increasing the offset will affect handling, ride, and unnecessarily stress front end parts....

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..
