    Re: tube bender questions

JD2 and Pro Tools have the best ones I have seen. Tried searching around and didn't find anything I really liked otherwise. Bending 2" without a hydraulic ram on a model 3 won't be fun.

Here is a pretty cheap solution for the JD2 to bend 2" tubing. I bend the .134 thick stuff using the ram from my engine hoist. Works good! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

If you plan on buying more dies later on down the road, for bending diffrent size tubing, make sure you check out the price of what the other size dies you might be getting later.
I went with the Pro Tools cause the dies where alot more cost effective and I could get a package deal that included, bender, stand, degree ring tube stop, bending handle and one set of dies. It cost more in the begining, but i can buy dies cheaper in the long run. You may want to check thought i think Pro Tools prices on dies went up a little.

I have a Protools 105HD as well. Manual for now, going hydro soon. 2" .120 dom is a workout manually! I am very happy with it.

protools 105hd here also. Haven't done much with it, but bending 1.75 x 0.120" dom is definitely a work out. Someday I'll add hydro... but not in time to work on my K5. Maybe the yota buggy project..

Protools 105 hd love it works great with no problems. Also use the bendtec software and it makes it very nice. No thinking at all you just put the measurements in and it spits out the degree of bend and all the measurments and cut off lengths. Well worth the money if you have never bent anything before. It will pay for itself with the tubing you dont screw up.

    good luck
