    I'll bite...

    Your 87 Chevrolet was made in St. Louis MO USA, 2wd 3/4 ton, TBI 454, and was the 155,637th truck in that production run.

    The only digit that I don't have is the 4th digit "G". Is that over 8000lbs GVWR? That doesn't jive with the 3/4 ton rating.

    1 = built in USA
    G = Manufacturer, GM
    C = Truck
    G = GVWR brake rating...8001-9000
    R = ?
    2 = 3/4 ton
    4 = 2 door cab
    N = Engine type...can't find 'N' listed though
    0 = check digit
    H = 1987 model year
    S = assembly plant...can't find a listing for 'S'
    155637 = sequential build number

    Hope that helps although it's a little incomplete...

    Rene

    "R" means 2wd in 87.

    Some of the stuff though on the vin he put up though weren't in the LMC catalog so I had to look up crap on the web.... that 2wd thing with the 454 really threw me off!!
