    What can\'t my blazer do?

I am by no means good at anything dealing with autos, but i LOVE my blazer. I am always impressed with what it has done. Even more impressive is what some of you guys have modified them to do. The question is How steep is too steep? when will it roll? I am talking middle of the road blazers light to no mods. I will never wheel that hard so i will never find out.

Can't squeeze between two tight trees. Tried it..didn't work. It will tow, pull out stuck j#eps, slaughter mudholes... heck, pull the back seat out and it will help you move!

You can't gas it up an off-camber sand dune when you're slipping down it sideways with a fence right next to you. The dune and it's fence will always win every time.
I thought I scratched the whole side of my truck in the process of taking down about 100 feet of fencing and a half a dozen poles.
It just about climbed out of that spot..... until the fence got wrapped up around my back tires. Fortunatly the ranger came along and loaned me his wire cutters.

    Hey Aaron,

Poop chute is where I destroyed my passenger door. You think it's normally bad you should try it when there's a foot of snow on the trail. 'Lower Jeep cross' was as bad or worse though...

My next trip there I am gonna try 'Expressway'...

my blazer does all the off-roading i can handle but you put it on the pavement and weird stuff starts happening. Monday 4 of 6 lug bolts on the driver rear wheel sheered off while going 5 mph on a city road and the wheel popped off and got hit by a tractor trailer going like 60 mph on the other side ( i was slowing for the light he was speeding to get through it.) Also went to change plugs the other day and two of em were cracked ( i was running on 6 cylinders). and the clutch went out, and the exhaust manifold gave way. i could go on but you get the picture.

If it can't be broken then I haven't had it.

I rolled my Jimmy when I was climbing up a hill that was about a 70 degree incline, and the rear spider gears snapped and sent me sideways, then it rolled 6 times :(

from what i read you have the built in safety feature like me...a carburator...before you get close to rolling you'll stall.

Re: What can\'t my blazer do?

I would say to side roll over point is probably in the neigbor hood of 40deg or so static. More junk you got inside it the higher the CG is the less of an angle it will take to roll.
There is a vid of me coming up Guard rail at tellico and I about went over. I have not seen the vid but thank god for the 8274 on my buds truck being so fast. It caught me after both my passenger tires had left the ground and the people that were watching said I had a good 2 feet of air under the right rear about 3 under the right front when the winch pulled in the slack. I Know I was bouncing so that may have contributed but till I see the vid I won't know.
I was tasting seat cover for the rest of the day. It was a wild ride.
Lots of stuff you can do to change the roll over point. making sure everything heavy is down low. Loose the hard top, more offset on the rims to move the tires out, stiff springs so the truck is less prone to leaning.
I have a bud with a bronco with air rear suspension. he can force the truck to lean. So he can lean into a hill moving the CG in the process. He can probably take a better than 45deg side hill and up till about 35deg he can keep the truck level.

I can second this! I was exploring a river when it got a little too deep! With 35's and a 6" lift, the water was up over my seat bottom(where your arse goes) and it got a little deeper, then I sucked in water! DOH!!! I had about 5+ gallons of water in the engine!

Also, a comment to Ed's about fittin between tight trees... You can do it, but expect the tree to do some body work for ya and then you have to go pic up your mirrors afterwards! LOL

And Duke, You can stand it almost staright up and down on the back wheels if you have a spare tire carrier(aka kickstand!) [IMG]

my truck has the built in safety feature of stalling before it rolls [IMG]. Only thing is it sucks when it stalls at the top of the hill and you have to back it down without power anything! [IMG]

Mine can't handle deep red clay mud with the 31 inch ATs. I did learn however, that when the pumpkins sit on the ground, I can't get it much more stuck.
