What could cause a vaccuum leak kinda sound from underneath the truck?

This noise has been gettin steadily worse for a while now. It really sounds like a vaccuum leak comin from above the tranny/t-case area. Any ideas? Oh by the way it started runnin rough right after this noise came about. It's a 350 tranny with a 203 t-case if that helps out any. I'm all lost about this. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

sounds to me like the modulator on the tranny either has a loose line or has come off in general. That is what I would check first.

On the right hand side near the tailshaft if memory serves me correct. There shound be a vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold.

IIRC it should be on the passenger rear of the tranny near the tail housing, going to be dome shaped and have a line nipple in the center. They just screw in and generally run about $10 if it is bad, I would make sure to make sure the vac. line to it looks good all the way across the top of the tranny too. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Thanks guys!! I had no idea that such a thing was there. Thankfully the hose was still there albeit a little trashed. But, with some zip ties I got it to work so I can run to the store to buy some celebratory beer. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif Thanks again guys!! You wanna be my friends?? /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif Talk to y'all again soon and good luck.

If your truck leaks oil (as mine does) carry some extra vacume line with you. The oil eats through it really quick (4-6 months) I am glad you fixed it.

Matt, Matt, Matt you've seen Wimpy. You know she leaks like a sieve. I know, I know needs to be gone through and sealed up. Unfortunately I think a radiator is in our future for that leak you noticed from the last trip. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif Oh well such is life. Good luck to y'all.

Hey mine leaks too. I don't mind the oil leak cause it lubes the front driveshaft and keeps a constant oil chang going.
