I was installing a tool box in the bed of my truck this afternoon and as I was backing in the driveway my dad noticed that my plates are expired...by like 2 months!
When I went to transfer the truck into my name it had just been paid so the lady told me that she could just transfer everything and that when they expired in 9 or 10 months (at the time) that I would get somthing in the mail so I never thought anything else about it.
Everything from DMV is correct (as far as my name, address, truck info., etc.) but I never got anything. Now I know an officer won't believe the ol' "but officer, I never got any papers from DMV about my plates" even though that is the case.

So can I just go to DMV and take my registration w/ me? Or do I need to call? This is the first time I've had to do this since this is my first truck.

hmm? I can probably tell what you are talking about but whats up w/ those? Is it a lot more because they focked up and didn't send me anything? We are very careful w/ mail around here so I know if something was sent to me then I would have gotten it and yeah, if I see something from DMV or my insurance company, etc. I open it and take care of it ASAP.

Bottom line is you are responsible for getting your fees paid on time whether you received a notice in the mail or not, end of story cut and dry.

yeah I know that now...I just never thought of it since she said they would send me something and thats how I've always seen my parents do it.
So what do I need to take in w/ me to the DMV, just the registration out of my truck?
What do you think were talking here? couple hundred?

:haha: :haha: I was thinking the same thing . Oh no another toolbox thread . This thread is worthless without pictures of said toolbox . I would post pic's of my toolboxes in the burb but they are camo'd just like the burb and you wouldn't be able to see them :doah: . 2 are metal and one's plastic :D no stickers either .

not worth it...figured everyone comes through the Garage/Lounge so they'd see it.
But you know sometimes I see members who post that I have never seen before, EVER and yet they have been here for years and are active members...so oddly enough I bet some guys just stick to the specific region sections and I never see them, lol.

Take you current registration papers, your bill of sale, and your proof of insurance down to the DMV. Act really confused and stupid and hopefully they'll give you a break.

Thanks Paul...well that last part shouldn't be too much of a stretch...sometimes DMV/Insurance stuff that is so obvious to you guys that have done it for years just doesn't make sense to me...only time will fix that I'm afraid.
