It appears to be the 400/208 adaptor. If it is around 2.5" wide, it should be that adaptor.

It also looks like the 400/205 adaptor, but those are 4" wide.

Can you read the part number on that adaptor? If so, type it back so I can decode it. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Don't you mean the one that's not Broke! It looks more like something off the back of a 350 or 700r4! I'm not second guessing Wess, he's God and we all know it, but I don't think a TH400 has a 4 bolt square pattern! I have been known to be wrong though!!! I just don't know if it bolted to a 205 or a 208, that's why I left this one alone till now!

Its not a 700/208 adaptor. There are 6 holes on the tranny side of the adaptor, which indicates its for a 400 tranny. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ok, DUH!! /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif I was looking at the BROKEN adaptor, not the "good one". /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Yeah, that "good" adaptor IS the 700/208 piece. It fits the '81 to '84 trucks sitting on the flat crossmember. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Man, I'm an idiot for not scrolling down all the way to see that pic!! /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

I think you saw the album with the broken trophy pic. The webshots link has 2 sets of adapter pics, 1 broken and 1 for the name that part game. The name that part album has a tall adapter with a 4 bolt square pattern on 1 side and a round pattern on the other side. It's got to be a 350/208 or a 700/208 part.

Yep, and its the pre-'85 like you said.

Actually, this adaptor is the 700/208 from years '83 & '84 only.

'81 & '82 trucks were originally equipped from the factory with TH350 trannys. These adaptors look like the 700/208 adaptors, but are deeper.

To make the TH350 work on the '83 & '84, those spacers are what is available to get the combo running. Everybody knows about these spacers. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
