what gage sheet metal for floors?

    I want something a little thicker than stock metal, but still workable with too much trouble.

    11 gage(1/8") is too thick. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    16-18 guage is pretty easy to work with for forming and all. It's in the .060" to .080" range (don't have the gauge chart here...) It is quite a bit thicker than the stock thickness of steel without being way overkill.

    Always been using 22 ga steel it's strong and workable.
