What gears are you guys running? and for what type of driving? I have 35's with a 700 and am considering going to 4.56's, but I don't know what rpm range that would put me in at highway speed. I have seen all of the tables, but I know there are a lot of 700's on this site, as well as 35 inch tires.

I run 3.73's with 33"s - I usually run higher speed stuff (desert/sand/highway), so they are about perfect for me[IMG]

    411's and 33's
great highway mileage and plenty of lowend torque

    It needs a bigger motor.
    what's in it now?

    Insane Ewok Big-O 35x12.5x16 with 4.10's - SM465
    Jedi Mind Trick BFG 33x10.5x15 with 4.10's - 700r4

Insane Ewok doesn't have OD, and even though it running bigger tires I like the combo...

my tranny was blown on my first trip with Jedi Mind Trick so I didn't really get a chance to ascertain if I liked the combo or not

Currently running 4:56 gears and 37"swamper ssr's needs a little bit more though , just purchased 4:88's and will be swapping them in shortly , ran 4:56's w/35" bfg M/T's and it was about perfect for all around driving!!! if you need a little more I would not be afraid at all of going to 4:88"s !!! I run 3:73's with 36" swampers. Surprisingly, it does pretty good. Although 5:13 gears are comming soon.

I'm running 38's on 4.10's. I went from 3.42 in my 1/2 tons to 4.10's when I dropped the 14FF in and I can tell a pretty big difference. I'm also running a TH350 so I'm running about 2300rpm @ 65mph. I'll probably end up dropping in 4.88's or 5.13's. I'm still in debate with myself. Doing that would cancel all highway driving unless I get another 700R4. Overall it doesn't do bad.

Sounds like I'm the only one around with 3.07 gears and 31x10.50 tires that are actually 29" tall. I rarely go above 2500rpm with those gears.

I can't wait to install the 3.73 gears I have. Someday I'll get 35" SSRs. I don't know if those gears will be fine for the 454. I'll guess they'll have to do it. I have a TH350.

4.11's with 35" SSR's (actual height of tire is 34.25") with a Turbo 350 (no OD) great combo for me, highway RPM's are perfect.

Lots depend on your motor. Torquey motors don't mind a higher gear (lower numerically).

4:88's with 37's and 700R4, I plan on going 38.5/39.5 with 400 auto and doubler so should be about right, if I was going to keep the 700R4 I would go 5:13.

I am running the BFG MT 35s, 700R4 and 4.56 - it is a nice tradeoff, and highway cruising is just about right at 65-70 mph (probably turning about 2200-2300). But I sometimes wish I would have gone even deeper, I think the 4.88s would have been awesome!! When I get 38s, I will definitely step up to 4.88 or 5.13s most likely...
