I'm undecided on weather to run 4:10's or 4:56's in Donna's K5. This will be a daily driver but will not see alot of highway driving. Most of the highway driving will be going to RC and Paragon and other runs. It will not have an overdrive trans one the lift and axle swap is done so the is where the ? comes from. It will have true 36" tall Swampers. I (actually Rene /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)figured it out at about 65 mph it should be just over 3000 rpm's. If I can afford to do the 4 to 1 gear swap in the t case then I will deffinately go with the 4:10's but if I can't do ya'll think I should just go with the 4:56's and put up with the higher rpm's and using more gas on the highway? Right now I'm leaning toward the 4:56's and if I don't like it then I will swap in 4:10's. Also once the swampers are shot the next set of tires will be 37" MTR's but it will never see a tire bigger then that. I have about 6 weeks to decide before I start building the axles so I'm looking for some oponions. Here is the plan:

    350 tbi mostly stock.
    th400/241 and hopefully 4 to 1 low.
    _____ gears???????
    36" Super Swamper Radials.

According to this site Your rpm's will be 2840 with 4.56's at 65. Sounds like a good choice.

Im running 36" TSL's and 4.56 gears and love it. I have a 700r4, but OD is about out so I only use drive. Im pretty sure it is 1:1 same as drive in the th350 and th400. I think its fine.

BTW, mine is a daily driver.

My 87 has 31" tall tires and a TH 400 and 4.10s and it's livable. I'd say 4.56s all the way. Even consider 4.88s if you like low gears. I wouldn't even think about 4.10s.
