I am getting ready to put a new engine and trans. in my 72 jimmy and I am planning on selling it after I get it back together. I was going to put a new crate 350 in it and rebuild the TH350. Would a diffrent motor or tranny make this rig more desirable? It is stock with very little rust, I figured I would just keep it stock Any Imput?>

crate engine w/th350 or th400 is the most desirable... at least to me. you will find that there isnt a straight answer to the stick vs auto question, its all personal. However, when your ready to sell it, let me know, I have been looking for a Jimmy to compliment my Blazer for a while...

You will not get out of it what you put in. If your plan is to sell it. Just sell it. If the swap costs $2000.00 you will at the MOST see a $500.00 profit. But if you just sell it outright you will make more profit. What is wrong with it to make you think it needs a motor and a tranny.? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've seen these 1st gen k5's sell for as much as 1500 with no motor or trans and the rest in pretty rough condition. You expect 3-4000 for a running streight k5 that just needs some paint and a little TLC. And finally 8000-12000+ for a real nice restored k5.
