Why has nobody answered the revised question? there are 2 plugged port on the waterpump. One on top and one on the side. Is there a difference in these, one is 3/4 and one is 1/2".

ok my new 4 core radiator didn't come with a place for the heater core to go to. so upon recomendation I"m running it to the waterpump. but...the top has a 3/4" plug, and I can't seem to find a 3/4" M NPT to a 3/4" hose barb anywhere in this town. any ideas? I've been to LOWES, HOME DEPOT, several parts stores, other hardware stores. I"m lost.

ok, well I went to autozone, there all a bunch of idiots, guy just fumbles thru the computer looking for who knows what, the HELP! section had nothing. so I left and went to O'reily's and they had one in the HELP! section but it's 3/4 hose to 1/2" thread well the plug on top of the waterpump is 3/4 and the one on the side appears to be 1/2"

So what difference would it make if I ran it to the side of the waterpump? any?

Well you could get a 3/4 to 1/2 hex bushing if necessary. Try Ace Hardware /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

JEEZ !!! Thats the problem with a chain company like Autozone...you can get alot of morons in there. If I didn't know what size you needed..i would do this...
First thing would be to pull a waterpump off the self..then second..look in the computer for what size heater hose...then go to town in the drawers full of heater hose connections.
BUT any good part man knows all about the 5/8 and 3/4 hose...the 1/2 or 3/4 npt... and how the heater hoses route on old chevys..
JEEZ !
(sitting here shaking my head....)

Yup. I work at AZ too. We got all kinds of stuff behind the counter. In fact, I can think of no less than two, possibly three places where we have those types of fittings.

Is this for the heater inlet? If so, you'll be getting not so warm water/air coming out of the heater. See if You can find a place off the manifold or head, for the heater inlet. Much hotter coolant there. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I have a line coming off the manifold going into the Heatercore, (5/8") then I have the 3/4" coming off, which used to go to the radiator, but my new one dosen't have that and it's much cheaper to run it to the waterpump than to pay the other $65 for the radiator with it, and deal with all the hastles of sending this one back.
