What is up with these magazine?

    In the October Off-Road magazine they have an article on a high-torque SBC build-up. As I read through I see they are using high-compression this and aluminum-that, requiring this engine to run on 92 octane.
    Now, I don't know about you guys but I can only afford 87 with my gas-guzzling truck. Why can't any of these magazines write an article on real-world engines? 92 octane is for imports and drag-racers!
    Honestly, Off-Road is mostly about chrome-shocks and 10-bolts, but the rest of the mags are doing it to.
    Anyone else feel like running over some cars rights about now?
