I just want to know 'cause I'm thinking of getting a 4" lift and 33 or 35" MT's but I want to see how much it will kill my mileage. After all, I am trying to go to college... Anyway, at the moment I get about 15 on the highway and about 12-13 in the city.

that's about what I get. I'm running a 4" lift with 36's and 4.56's with a TH350. What gears and tranny are you running?

Before 50 responses get up here, I'll say one thing - most of the trucks we drive, with lifts/new axles/different gears from stock/tires are taller - will NOT allow us to get a fair and accurate gas mileage figure. Not that I doubt the guys on this board /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif but I doubt they really know what gas mileage they are getting unless the .005% of them actually recalibrated the speedo after all the mods.

No offense to anyone, I am in the same boat. Only time I figured my gas mileage was on a freeway trip with GPS...........other than that I am clue-free.

86 K5. TH350 tranny, 350 crate motor, 35"BFG's, 3.42 gears. I have done the math to compensate for the spedo being off when I calculate my MPG. I will get around 9-10 in city and up to 12 on the highway

I get 14 on the freeway. My speedo no worky, but I can fill up my tank and get yahoo maps (usually about 120 miles each way) to tell me how far I went. When I do this a couple of times I can get a a good average when I fill the tank about the same amount.

Around town it sucks. I estimate ~10 mpg, and I have 3.73 gears. Good for the freeway. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

My speedo is 10mph slow and with that reading I get 7.2 miles per gallon consistantly. Anybody know how I would go about compensating for this miss calibration? Thanks.

Your speedo is always off by a percentage. 10mph at what speed? If I assume it's 10mph slow at 60 then your real speed would be 70 or about 16.7% slow. Just multiply your mpg by 16.7% and there you go. You would be getting 8.4mpg /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

This is what I think my truck gets. Around town it does about 8-10 on average. On the highway it gets about 13. I have 4.56's and 35's with a 350/th350 combo.

35'' tires w/4.56 gears and 700R4 gets me (with the speedo change accounted for) gets me +/-9.5 MPG in town. I don't do much freeway driving so I couldn't tell you that.
