a D60 housing from a 2003 F-Super Duty worth?? i know it would be some work, and would have to be "hi-pinion".. but i have the opoortunity to get one.. and i may take it.. if anything, resell it reasonably to a member if its worth anything.. /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

You're wrong. All 01 I believe, could be 02 and newer Superduties have a D60 front. Prior to that, the DRW rigs had '60s, while the 3/4 ton AND 1 ton SRW trucks got the D50

A 50 and a 60 look the same. A 50 is basically a 60 housing, with D44 gears in the pumpkin and D44 shafts. So, basically, it's a D44 on the inside, and D60 on the outside.

All of these rigs still run the pathetic hub bearing style outers up front too so big tires and that don't go well together without the conversion which is big $$$.

My guess is that you could get close to $3000 for a front axle from a truck that new.

Hmmm I was under the impression that all the superduties had front 50's...seemed like something dumb enough for ford to do. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

229 is d50, 248 is d60, this is a d60.. its a housing only with bearing caps.. no knuckles, not even a cover.. im getting it from somewhere... heh, i do work at a ford dealer ya know.. hey its scrap... what can i say?? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
