I wouldn't fool with it unless you can ghet it dirt cheap. Trust me, I restore Trans Ams and hate to get one with an open title, just a huge headache.

yeh, the guy wanted 3000 for it. He said its 90% restored, so I guess I would have to figure if the end value would be worth it.

I don't know man. That's kinda cheap, isn't it? I don't know many people that would restore something without a title. I'd get in touch with the DMV with the VIN# and check it out and see who the title owner is.

I agree, it would seem like a waste of money to restore without a title. I'll have to check with him and see if he had the title and mabey lost it. If that were the case he should be able to get a copy of it from DMV.

Yeah, if that is the case, you are alright. If not, be prepared for guys that don't want to take the time to help you out and guys that won't return your phone calls. I've had that happen MANY times.

It really shouldn't be a big deal ....IF he really owns the truck.

Check with the California DMV for specifics.

I got my suburban from a guy without the title. We just went down to the DMV together and filled out an affidavit of lost title (extra $8 to notarize) and I had a title in my hands in about 2 weeks.
