From now on out, I'm going to be running AC Delco plugs.

Too many problems with the low end "standard" plugs.

I know you weren't asking necessarily for the low end stuff, just some advice.

I have a feeling (speculation) that the "better" plugs only serve to increase plug life with "better" material that won't erode as quickly. Ideally the better the material conducts, the more reliable the ignition, but the fact is, (to simplify) as long as the gap is jumped by the spark, you have ignition. Since HEI puts out so much voltage, its very easy for it to jump the .035/.045 that Chev recommends, regardless of the plug type/material.

The subject of spark plugs was just talked about. I think it was under the garage forum. Try a search..

Cheap AC Delcos...opened the gap up to about .45 to help gas mileage if theres any truth to that...seemed to help a little
