Plasma moly rings break in fine, I have used them on several rebuilds and never had a problem with them sealing quickly. You have to use a different stone on your hone for moly rings. Chrome moly rings take forever to seal. Use the plasma moly rings over regular cast iron rings.

On a basic rebuild I would only use standard iron rings. Plasma and moly rings definatly last longer but as they wear they also wear more of the piston bores. Using Plasma and Moly you pretty much guaranteed to have to rebore each rebuild. With iron rings you can sometimes use a block 4 or 5 times before it is junk.
