Can anybody tell me exactly what these things are for? Are they for future expansion? service? What exactly are they?

I'm talking about the allen key plugs that are right around the base of the tbi.
Are the part of the cooling circuit? I'm wondering if I can stick a second coolant temp sensor/sender in place of one of them.
I can take it apart when I get home, I guess, but I had the photo and figured I'd ask...

Sorry man... I don't speak in 6-cylinder language! Only V-8's for me. Sorry I can't help for certain.

Why not pull one of the plugs to check for some residue that might indicate that its either a coolant passage, or a blockoff for vacuumm(sp)?

Does anyone else smell BFGs burning???

No, it's 350 intake, I think from '87-90. My '88 has the same things around the bottom of the TBI, and your '87 should too if it's TBI.
The TBI casting has been cannabalized from this manifold and I just threw the injector ports on there. It makes it look smaller I think, maybe why you though it was V6...
Yeah, I'm going to yank them when I get home, but I'm at work, and figured maybe someone already knew.
No sweat, I just hope the cooling system on the donor left a positively identify-able residue...

LOL, Ok, I see what you were thinking...

I don't know, I figure you're probably right, what harm can it do, right? I have another sender if I blow this one up.

I just got home, so haven't gone out there yet (need my CK5 fix first).

Does anyone have any idea why those things are there, anyway? Regardless of what circuit they're in, 'm curious why they're there.

They're just extra places to take vacuum from.
