Another free vehicle I picked up last winter. Mostly been just sitting. I did get the sunroof and windows to work. The car has 49K miles on it, one owner. The interior is MUCH better shape than the outside. For you power freaks out there, the 429 was rated at 370 horses and 490 torque.
Now the question: what do I do with it?
Prime it and turn it into a rat rod.
Find a 78-79 Bronco and put the motor in it.
Buy a MK VII, and use Mustang kit to put the 429 in it.

I'd loook for a early bronco too drop that 429 into. Always liked those smaller bronco from the late 60's/early 70's. Then I'd part the rest of the car out.

Since it is probably all original I would look around for T bird sites and put it for sale or Ebay it. Use the money for something you want. May as well leave it original fo rsomebody who likes the old birds.

    If you sell it..

I'd put it in "Hemmings Motor News" classified ads!..I bet that car is worth more than you think--not that many came with 429's,and that is a one year only body style if I remember correctly..it does not appear to be in that bad a shape judging by the photos rustwise..I bet some T-bird enthusiast would love to own that car,and might be willing to spend some serious cash for it..

We had many lincolns at the junkyard I worked at--one was a 1971 Mark 3,that had the "opera" windows,a 460/C6 and 9" rear..we thought it was nothing special, somehow it was never "picked over" for parts,it was 99% intact, only a few mouldings were missing..We
were about to scrap it when the yard went out of bussiness--but one of the "regulars" who came often to buy parts for his Lincolns decided to buy it complete for 200 bucks--a few weeks later,he advertised it in Hemmings, and it sold for 1500 bucks!--and he never even touched the car!..we also sold a 68 Lincoln 2-door coupe with a 460/C6 for about the same price, and that guy made a 1800 dollar profit!--turns out they didn't make that many 2 door Lincolns!...:doah:

X4, only loose the vinyl top.

Tight fit, custom headers, cooling issues w/o extensive engine bay mods to get a decent sized radiator in there.

Get it running and everything working you can. Strip the top off, primer the whole car. clean it up the best you can Put on a cheapo set of chrome wheels/tires. Should be worth 2500-3k easy. They only made that style 70 and 71. Those old pre smog 360 hp 429s are hard to come by these days. If that car was restored it would bring a nice piece of change.
