what sould I make my roll cage out of

    I was just woundering what size and type of tube I sould use to make my roll cage out of and what kind of welder I sould use (I know TIG is best but I dont have one) my bud that is going to help me make it has a stick and a mig welder so witch one sould I use?

    and if any of you guys have any pics of how you mounted your raceing seats and 5 points to you roll cage I could really use them or just pics of your roll cage would be really helpful to me in my project!

    if you could E mail them to me that would be great!

    I would use 1 3/4" .120 wall DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubing. And the MIG welder. Check out Project Money Pit in the pictures section of this site for a nice cage.

    Get the 'seamless' type of steel tubing. I think they call it cole role or cold role steel tubeing 1 3/4" is what I used too. click on the link below to see mine.

    That would be CDSM (Cold Drawn Seamless Mechanical) tubing.
    Beautiful stuff if the budget is there, its pretty pricey.

    I'd also use the .120" wall DOM and definitely the MIG welder.
