I'm selling my truck. I was wondering if I should do the 3/4 ton swap on it and sell it with the 40's or just sell it with the 1/2 ton junk on it and worn out 35's. If I put the 40's on it, I'll have to regear the axles to 4.88 or 5.13. What do you think?

leave what you've got on it. You wont get near as much than if you just sell the extra parts as parts only.

If you are selling your truck, save the good stuff for your next project, Hopefully it will be GM. Let someone else do what they want to it, maybe they wouldn't want that stuff on there anyway.

thanks for the replies. i didn't know if it'd be worth more to do the swaps or not. now i do. although, when i do sell it, i could mention that i have all of this stuff and could swap it on for a "certain price".

here's the next question: should i at least re-gear the rear axle to match the front. currently it's 4.56 front and 3.42 rear. it used to match until i chipped a tooth on the pinion gear and the carrier bearings went out in the rear. i can fix it pretty easily, just wondering if i should do it though.

More than likely it will sell, as is, I wouldnt go through the hassle....although if your target selling audience is gonna be a wheeler and not some highschool kid, and if you have the gears, regear....they may try and talk you down $ wise if they know the first thing about gears...

Sell it as is.. just recommend a good place to get it done at.. dont do it yourself as a pert of the deal.. if it broke they'll come back and be upset and want money in return for the work/part failing/breaking...

hehe, if i did it and they came back, i'd just pick up the 14b and smack them with it. All sales are final! I guarantee nothing, just like the dealership did to me.
