Right now around here it is the same price as reg gas(87 oct.) which is $1.89 to $2.09 depending on what station.

Canuck prices, but I'm too lazy to convert /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    regular: 78.9 to 89.9 cents/L
    diesel: 68.9 to 82.9 cents/L

gas prices fluctuate more, and vary from one extreme to the other over a 50km drive.

    What is UP is right.

    Economics/Politics

The "pending war" even though it should have NO effect does, plus with more residential pick-ups and work trucks using diesel (Cummins, Duromax, Powerstroke all gaining in popularity over the past 5 years or so). They say diesel usage has increased 10-20% over the past couple of years and is mainly due to residential pick-up owners. The supply is the same, the demand has gone up.......simple economics says price goes up as well.

I just filled up saturday for $1.55 a gal. and across the street it was $1.75. Most gas stations have it for around the same price as premium gas.

Regular is now up to 91.5 cents a litre ($2.23 per gallon)

Diesel is 74.9 cents per litre ($1.82 per gallon)

Kevin, where did you find diesel at 68.9???

At any rate diesel does seem to stay more steady price wise than gas, plus I go through a whole lot less of it so it isn't that big a deal. I sure am glad I got rid of my 350 now.../forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Cost me almost $10 to get there, but I saved $15.

It was 75 cents or so right through Aldergrove even out to Mt. Lehman. The 82.6 price was right down the hill from me at the PetroCan /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Ususally Aldergrove is nearly as cheap...but when I filled up there the other day it was 75.9. Not that big a deal but it's 74.9 2 blocks from my house. Someone is gouging us...

True except in winter times, when diesel prices go up seperately.
In the winter time, diesel is higher than regular, in the summer it's lower, at least here in NorCal.

/forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif Everywhere I drive, it's over $2.00 - higher than premium gasoline. Aside from the use by the average citizen being up, it is also one of the primary fuels for industry/transportation (tractors/trailers, trains, busses, etc.). Supply and demand does have it's drawbacks (even if diesel costs less to refine [I think])...

Yes, Diesel is cheaper to refine; remember when diesel was significantly cheaper than the cheapest grade gas? We're getting gouged plain and simple /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif First the dock worker strike, drove prices up. Then the oil companies didn't want to buy expensive crude. One of our colder winters here in the states. More diesel use/demand... Oh no, impending war in the Middle East..another reason to jack prices. Time to start burning peanut oil /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here a few blocks from where I live diesel IS cheaper than gas. The diesel costs about 0.95 Euro/litre/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif while the 95-octane (we`ve also have 98 and 99) fuel costs about 1.26 Euro/litre /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif So driving diesel isn't so bad at all. You've got cheap fuel, GREAT torque and one heckofasound.

$1.88/gallon in Rockford, IL. It's over $1.90/gallon around Chicago in some places.
