How about an adopt a family? I don't mean to throw a wrench into this poll.... but how cool would that be? We're doing that at work and it's neat. We're getting them food (plus a grocery store gift certificate), clothes, toys, and some other stuff (we're paying their bills- gas, electric, water etc...). Whatever is chosen I will help though... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't think we would be able to come up with that much cash... I think that if all 50 + members donated some food or a toy we could come up with a lot...Dan

True... we raised like $600 bucks so why we were able to do this (plus we got some stuff donated). If we do food and whoever does this has one near them, check with Smart & Final. They are awesome, least here at donating food to us for things. So is Winco Foods but dunno how many of those are around...

i am willing to play santa's evil little elf /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I would probably post over on the PBB also, and make one trip up to Sacto to pick it all up.

I REALLY want to fill up the bed of a K5 and drop it off. I think that would be uber-cool. THere is a Second Harvest Food bank 5 miles from my house, and i think it would be great.

get co-workers, neighbors, family, and friends in on it! I could make a mailer or flier (maybe Ken could help!?!) to promote it. i think that would be cool. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

What ever we do.. Toys or food.. Lets have Zakk in charge of the San Jose area.. Steph you want to be in charge of the Sac area.. And we could get somebody for the Lodi area.. I 'll do the Hollister area although it is just me and Shewheeler.. We could collect all the stuff then meet up and donate it together.. I'll leave the poll up untill friday at 5:00 pm.. Then we will plan from there.Sound good??

i am going to place an e-mail that Ken sent me regarding media coverage. i think we should maximize this, show Fourwheelers doing something positive on TV. the chances of getting on Television are slim at best. but it would be really cool. It is something uncommon and a human intrest story, so i think we have a better chance of being a sound bite and a few frames than John Q. Public.

***e-mail from Channel 7 to Ken***

Thanks for your note regarding the upcoming Food Drive.
We'll be broadcasting on Monday, December 16 from a number of Safeway
    locations.
We haven't quite nailed them down as yet, but if you'd like to make a
donation (anytime between now and December 16 or any other time), you
    can
call 1-800-870-FOOD and you'll be connected to the food bank in your
    county.
They would be happy to hear from you, I'm sure.
We'll be getting our final details on our Food Drive taken care of in
    the
    next couple of weeks.
When we do, they'll be posted on abc7news.com.
    Thanks again.

my parents agreed to have a food drive bin in their video store. last time they did one, it had a decent turn out. I am also going to add one for my office.

Can Dunemullet come up with some fliers for the Food Drive?
