I am replacing a head gasket in my friends Exploder, and am getting $500 for it when I finish the job this weekend. Just wondering what you guys would do with it. I could spend it all on my girl , all on my truck /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif, or find a happy medium, what do you think?? /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Just about right for a pair of LockRights...

Since you like to play in the sand I'd probably invest in onboard air. You should be able to do it for $400 or less whether you go with an electric pump or a York.

Agreed. The FIRST time I had to replace ALL of the gaskets on my Explorer my buddy did the work for me for free. Just fed him some dinner. They are a biatch to replace, but it's nice to have "friends" to help.

even if the info isnt worth jack to you and ur a selfish bastage that doesnt wanna support the internet's best www site... I have saved a TON of cash using ck5 member discounts since I signed up. Rockstomper x-over ($25) + toybox offroad ($15 i think, been a while) + HAD shafts ($100) + WTO hydro ($50)... think there is one more, cant remember what it was tho. At any rate, Im workin on $200 I've saved via discounts vs $50 for the last 2 years of membership. Not to mention that I won HADs monthly drawing once. gee, wonder if it was a good deal to sign up. lol!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yeah, $500 seems like a bit much... But I paid over $50 (don't remember exactly how much) for head gaskets on my Explorer... Never put them on, too much work for me /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif, but yeah if the part's expensive and putting them on is a bitch, then I'm sure a shop would charge a lotta money to do it /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
