My brother totaled my 82 K5 tonight. No one was hurt, but the frame is bent and some major front end damage. I can buy a 79 K5 with a 427 and some rust for about $1200 and swap everything to it. Does this sound worth it, or could i find a rust free truck (or at least in good shape) for about this price? Any other ideas? Thanks

I would get the 79 with some rust and build it from there. 1200 bucks is a good price, especially with a big block. I say this because if you like going out wheeling, sooner or later something happens to them. For me it was rolling mine 6 times. I decided to keep the Jimmy and build it the rest of the way. And if you like playing in the mud, K5s start to rust out in the back quarter panels anyways.
