I have a funky chrome air filter (I didn;t buy it) on my 350. It's the open element kind with a K & N. I hate chrome and it's rusty anyway. WHat can I paint it with? Just some plain Rustoleum? WHat about that steel-looking paint that is nade for painting wheels? ANy ideas? I'll go plain black or steel/stainless steel look. Don't want to pony up for a new air filter.
Also, my windshield has that dumb chrome molding in the middle of the windshield gasket,. What should I paint that with? I just want it black like the rubebr gasket. IF I ever have to replace the windshield I'll have them use a regular gasket, so I just want to cover the funky chrome trim up.

Ive found the best way to paint chrome is to sand blast it ,prime it ,then paint it.

Why don't you just buy an Xteme Air Filter Lid...it's made by K&N, got one on my truck, looks nice and they say you gain like 10 more hp but i doubt it...dunno

You can replace the chrome trim on the window with new trim. LMC sells it for about $6.00 and it is black rubber, easy to replace and looks great. Just rip out the old and install the new.
