ok so i have been invited to a wedding and have not been to one in a long time what do you wear. It is a Catholic wedding. I am not in the wedding party so i think i would be safe with slacks and a nice shirt and tie?

Ladies your input is welcome as well.

You've got the right idea. Slacks, button shirt and a tie would be fine for every wedding I've ever been to, including the Catholic ones. Sometimes you can get away less dressy, but unless you talk to someone in the wedding party I'd stick with that. I feel better over dressed than underdressed at a wedding. As long as I'm not dressed better than the bride and groom. ;)

Depends on the familys. I was at a wedding this past summer. Grooms family nearly all the relatives in what looked like high dollars suits etc. The brides close family was dressed similar but all the relatives. Jeans and button up shirts, Cowboy boots, Redwings and such. Sure was easy to tell who was in what family.

Course then all the college friends from the couple showed up. Ill leave it at we didnt present ourselves well. Althought we fit in with the brides family real well

Definitely a dress shirt, tie, and slacks.

If you have one, a blue blazer.
