what transmission to get?

    im gettin a new tranmission and was wondering what kind yall think i should get. what kind has gave yall trouble and what has been great to yall. i have a 700r and was considering putting in a manuel. what is the best manuel to get. i was lookin to spend about $1200 bucks. thanks

    theres a company on ebay that allways has nv4500.the only way to go.

    eatin'fords and shittin'dodges down in the sunshine state.

    thanks for the info so far. i was wondering if anyone knew the name of the 5spd manuel tranny that has granny low first and overdrive. thanks for the help.

    so what do you think the responses were?
    a Fiat tranny?

    NV 4500, granny low old ones 6.34 new ones 5.60ish, OD 5th .73ish

    k ill be nicer,

    jeep freaks are nuts for this tranny and have jacked the price insane.
    for what they are willing to pay you could get a 6 speed

    lookinto a ranger OD box and a sm465. more work but easy to find. ranger is in the $1500 ballpark BRAND SPANKIN
    requires new driveshafts, bettin the 4500 would as well so may be equalized,
    you can split the horrid 3 - 4 shift
    I made an excell sheet to compare rpm drops and includes a graph and is easy to change any number if you wanna play what if.
    made it for my own use so someone that actually knows how to use Office could prolley make it nice.
    anyone want it I will send it.
