Seeing how my 4x4 needs new hubs and the damn duralast 800cca battery died agin and i dont feel like touching the truck right now Im doing stuff to my street truck. I was thinking about going 3000 rpm stall and TCI shift kit. its a th350 tranny. My 4x4's th350 is built to hell with 2500 stall. What would be better for the street truck 2500 or 3000 the rear is gettin 3.55 gears and a auburn or eaton limited slip. Right now its just open with 3.08 . How well do yall think that will do ? keep in mind the zz4 350 gets most its torque in the 3000 rpm range so it should make for a good take off..

My personal opinion, unless your plan on racing this truck I would not go with a 3000 stall. I ran one for a few years in my chevelle but I had to have it because of the cam.
It doesn't seem like a big difference between 2500 and 3000 but you will learn not to like it on a daily driver

If that Duralast is less than 2 years old go claim your free battery.

I would go to 3.73 gears and keep the stall a little less crazy. I might not even go all the way to 2,500. 2,200 or so would make for a nice launch and keep it more reasonable on the street.

If the engine is making most of its torque in the 3000 RPM range you dont want the TC slipping in this range. I would go a little lower. 2000 should do it. It should be about 500 RPM lower than the peak torque output.

Well i think ill just go with another 2500 set up then Its actually not bad as a DD TC. When i was driving my 4x4 as my DD it did fine. It was kinda funny barkin all 3 gears with it. It actually did a lot better crawling up steeep hills with the 2500 stall kept tires from breakin loose and in 4 low nice take offs in the mud. Im not going 3.73 in my street truck b/c it would kill the high speed and id like to get some mpg with it. Mabey even 3.42 gears would be good just cuz it will be on the highway for trips to Panama City or where ever were going lookin for girls. Thanks for your help guys /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Actually it ran pretty cool, I never saw trans temps over 180. Had a cooler that could have been a radiator on a import though.
