it all depends on if the guy knows what he has, but i would pay $500,and make sure he dosn't have a cell phone[IMG]--true story-- went up to a guy flahed $500 in his face, he smiles, looks at the truck, looks at the cash. gets on the cell phone [IMG] says to the guy on the other end "now why dont i want to sell this front axle?" looks at me and says"now why would i want to sell a $1200 axle for $500??[IMG] I ended up paying the $1k to another guy.

I paid 1000 for mine with 4.56 gearing. I was glad to find one with my gears so I didn't even argue over the price.

I'm not bragging or putting down the deals on which people have or can get them for.

The cheapest I ever paid for one was $125. [IMG]

The most I ever paid for one was $6500. That included the rest of the whole truck. [IMG]

I have sold a few of them and the average cost was around $600.

I would pay enough to where I could sell it and make a decent profit.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it if it was stock and just for my personal use.

I got a freshly rebuilt set, Dana 70 and Dana 60 for $1200. Sold the rear for $400 and my old front end for $350.
So, I ended up $450 out of pocket. Just need to regear it and lock it now. They are 4.56, but I am going to 4.88s, so it will match the rear end I am using.

In my neighborhood, I got a steal on this.

i bought a single wheel k30 with 60 front 14 rear ,454 sm465 and a 205 for $1800.00 with a tool bed and drove it home. then dismantled it for parts. sold then engine for $1100.00 and had $700.00 in the rest of it. i also bought another k30 the ole military 1 1/4 ton camo paint job and all. $2000.00 drove it home 150 miles, had 60 front 14 rear,6.2 diesel , 400 turbo 208 case. i drove it along time then put a matching set of 10 bolts under it. and sold it for $2200.00. so this proves that you can get them cheap ya just have to shop around. i sold one set of them to a jeep guy for $1250.00 later.

Really depends on the area I guess, here in Colorado where off-roading is popular they can be pricey, at least a 1000. - 1200. in the paper and if you don't call right away it will be sold already. Funny when I hear someone say, I would buy one for 500., of course you would, I would buy 1000 D60's at that price if I could. [IMG]

really depends on the area, I found a kid in a rural area who was building a shorbed crew cab, he put 1/2 ton axles under it cause he was just going to cruise the streets, I asked about the 1 ton axles and he traded them to the welder to shorten the frame, off to welder's where I scored them for 400 for the set!!
