What year did they start making reclining bucket seats

    Im looking for red reclining bucket seats for my 83 k5 as well as red door panels and carpet if anyone has any??? what year did they start making recliners???? I know up till 91's will bolt in...

    1986, you will have to make mounts for the rear bolts for the passenger seat.

    Nope......it slides pretty far forward on the seat frame, enought to allow you room to squeeze into the back seat.

    Do ya know if these were options in the pickup's and suburbans or are blazers the only place im going to find them? That is as far as the sliding forward type??

    K5's, 3+3's and suburbans are the only ones with the same floor plan...the 3+3's and Sub's don't need sliding seats, so the K5 is the only logical donor. Perhaps the later Sub's and 3+3's had sliding seats, but I doubt they would have folded forward like the K5's.

    Actually i've got an 86 and it doesn't have the reclining seats. And my buddy has an 85 and it does have the reclining seats. I don't know what determines which truck had them. And when it started.

    my 84 has full size buckets the drivers side only slides front to back the passenger side flips forward....so if you are riding in the back go around

    Yeah my '86 has the tilt forward as well...but the service manual shows the slider as '86. maybe I misinterpreted the manual, perhaps it was one or the other that year, but it required a floor change, perhaps it was an early/late thing.
