I've found plenty on v8's, Does anyone know of a website that includes v6 casting numbers? A friend has a 4.3 v6 with the casting numbers...47195.

    Who said size doesn't matter?

Casting number is probably not going to tell you the year, though it may narrow it down a bit. Better is a small number on the deck shelf in front of or behind one of the heads. Very small, hard to see and it may not be on the newer stuff. I have several older 350 blocks that have this, though I don't know of a site or source to decode them....sorry, not much help I guess. Try going to Dorians site. (Dyeager) He has a number cruncher section on his site. I dont recall if he had 6 cyl. on there or not tho. Try sending a P/M to Twizted, he may be able to find out. ( he works at a GM dealer ) Call a machine shop. And finally call the local GM store and ask someone in parts to run the # for you.

If ya can't stop.......Smile as you go under! [IMG]

Have you done a search on the syclone/typhoon sites? I checked one of the pages I normally use, no V6 stuff that I saw.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?
