Ok I have a lead on one motor and tranny condition unkown.
its the big 500 cubic inch, with tranny.
What I nead to know what its worth if the engine and tranny need rebuilt, or if it just needs freshend up.
I thought someone on the board has installed one of these.
I think I can get it for under $500 for both of them.
Is that a good price. if running.
    Thanks

    Ok
Found out it ran great the car was wrecked in the rear so he took the tranny and engine out of it. It drove into the shop when it was pulled,
I would love to be able to put this in the blazer later on.
I know someone has had to of done this.
    Anyone got input
    Thanks

i just recently bought a 72 Caddy 500 from a bone yard in Phoenix for $350 in ok condition but needs rebuilding. The transmission that I'm using is a TH-400 (BOP) that I bought for $195 and it also will be rebuilt.

  4. go for it! make sure you get all the acc. brakets from the car if you can. i know Brians 60s has done this twice and might have some input for you. he had to clearence the firewall a bit under the brake booster and have some custom motor mounts made. good luck!

I just got a bunch of info from Donovan... he has a 500 powered Nova. There also was a good post a while ago on the 500 motors. I would go for it in a heartbeat... the only down side is the BOP bolt pattern
