    WHAT\'S A 90-91 K5 SILVERADO WORTH WITH A BUNK TRANNY???

I need another vehicle, like I need a hole in the head, but it is a BLAZER. Anyway on my way to camp sherman, I went through redmond and spotted a very nice 90 or 91 silverado k5 with shoe polish on the windshield that said $3,700. Transmission slips. I went in to inquire about it and she said the owner is away but if someone offers $3,500 let it go. Anyway the paint is very nice, has all the power goodies, 350 motor with 140k total miles, not sure if motor has been replaced. we have no rust here, so that is not an issue. interior is pretty nice. 10 bolts front and rear. YUK... aftermarket aluminum wheels with 32's and a cd player. there are 2 small dents 1 on each side but not very big. Since I would shetcan the tranny anyway, is this a good deal??

IT'S A 1 TON THING.... IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!

i found yesterday that my 85 k5 if it was bone stock, books at $3500(nada). so if the tranny and small dents are all thats wrong i would say it sounds like a good buy. there is a 91 k5 here that has 74.000 orig miles and its priced at $7900.

Sounds like a fair to good price.
I think the rebuilt 700r4s from Jet start at around $1600.
Adding, you end up with fair-market value but a tranny you know....

Even with the bad tranny, that sounds like a good price. Can't get a 90's model around here that is driveable for that.

I'd offer em 3K for it. Walk in with the cash in hand and say I'll give you 3 for it. Cause the tranny slippin may be a matter of not enough tranny fluid. 32s shouldnt affect the tranny and unless he/she has been pulling a tug boat with it in OD, I cant see any major problems with a 700R4. Plus you can get it rebuilt pretty stout for a lot less than simply buying another one.

If you decide against it let me know where it is.

    Thanks,

Sounds pretty good to me. I like the idea of walking in with $3000 in hand for it. If you ask me, that's the way to buy any vehicle. Actually seeing the green makes folks more agreeable sometimes....
    Good luck with it!

My ride is very clean also.....That 90 books for more than 3500...if you can get for 3000.....you better snatch it....I know people out here in Idaho sell them for more than that with out a tranny ...good luck

I hate to disagree, but it better be in damn good shape for me to give that much money for it. I might consider $2k for it. It's easy to talk a person down when their vehicle is messed up and they don't know how to fix it.
